About this program
Alberta's municipal solar rebate program offers residential property owners $450/kW of installed capacity (up to 20kW, maximum $9,000) and commercial properties $750/kW (up to 20kW, maximum $15,000). Administered through Change Homes for Climate and participating municipalities including Calgary, Edmonton, and others.
Eligibility requirements
- Must be a property owner in a participating Alberta municipality
- Residential: $450/kW, maximum 20kW ($9,000 max rebate)
- Commercial: $750/kW, maximum 20kW ($15,000 max rebate)
- Must use a qualified solar installer
- Applications typically open annually (2026 applications from February)
- Available in Calgary, Edmonton, Airdrie, Canmore, Lethbridge, and 20+ other municipalities
