BC Hydro Solar and Battery Rebate

About this program
BC Hydro offers rebates of up to $5,000 for rooftop solar panel installations and up to $5,000 for battery storage systems enrolled in the Peak Saver program. Starting April 1, 2026, the rebate structure changes, with battery rebates requiring Peak Saver enrollment. Part of B.C.'s Clean Energy Strategy aligned with CleanBC.
Eligibility requirements
- Must be a BC Hydro residential customer (not FortisBC or other utilities)
- Must own the home where system is installed
- Property must be a grid-connected residential home in BC Hydro service territory
- Starting June 2026, installations must be by a Home Performance Contractor Network member
- Battery rebates of $5,000 require Peak Saver enrollment; non-Peak Saver batteries get up to $1,500
