Administered by the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA), this grant covers up to 30% of solar installation costs, capped at NZD $5,000 for residential properties and NZD $25,000 for commercial projects. The program aims to reduce upfront costs and make solar power more accessible to New Zealanders.
Eligibility requirements
- Must own the property where panels will be installed
- Installation must be carried out by an EECA-approved installer
- System capacity must not exceed 10kW for residential or 50kW for commercial
- Property must be connected to the national electricity grid
- Must apply through EECA and receive approval before installation
